The Iosco RESA Career and Technical Education Center would like to take this opportunity to recognize Cadence Smith as “Professional Student of the Month” for September 2024. Cadence is the daughter of Jessica and Vern Smith. She is a junior at Whittemore-Prescott High School.

Cadence is a first year junior from Whittemore-Prescott in the Health Science program. Cadence comes to class prepared in her scrubs ready to learn daily. Cadence is focused, organized, hard-working and willing to help her classmates when needed. Cadence uses her time wisely in class and demonstrates great work ethic for her peers. Cadence is CPR/First Aid/AED Certified.  She is currently taking the certified clinical medical assistant course and is dual enrolled through Alpena Community College taking an Introduction to Nursing course. Cadence wants to become a registered nurse in the future. She will be a great addition to the nursing field and we cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her.

To be nominated for “Professional Student of the Month”, a student must have outstanding work ethics, no absences or tardies for the month, no discipline issues and at least a B grade point average. Iosco RESA Tech Center offers the following programs for 11th and 12th grade students: Automotive Technology, Building Trades, Business Management, Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management, Health Science, Teacher Prep Academy, and Welding & Fabrication.
