Business Management
Instructor: Jennifer Dzuris
Students will have the opportunity to develop crucial skills and explore careers within Business Administration Management and Operations (B.A.M.O.). As young professionals, the students will develop the following skills:
COMPUTER SKILLS: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), utilization of spreadsheets, presentation software, and basic computer maintenance.
BUSINESS SKILL SETS: Management concepts, entrepreneurship, professional written and verbal communications, soft skills, problem solving, teamwork, ethics, employability skills, career planning, and potential college planning.
CAREER READINESS: Resume development, cover letter development, completion of formal job applications, identification of SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats), interview skills, mock classroom interviews, and the creation of a LinkedIn profile.
Students will be placed in real business scenarios where they will work as a team to show their professionalism, creativity, and innovative skills. Students will have the opportunity to explore all of the different career fields in business, such as, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, recruitment, event planning, human resources, sales, finance, supply chain, and more.
The state of Michigan Department of Education and Employers have determined these skills and concepts to be essential for entry-level employment.
